Emotional: The Final Stretch
Let’s not sugarcoat it: the third trimester is tough. For your partner, everything hurts and sucks again times 10. For you, this means your relationship will be tested. Communication might get sharp, patience might wear thin, and you’ll question life choices like, “Who did I marry?” and “Why did we decide to do this?”
Answer: because you’re building a family, and this is part of the process. Keep going forward. You’re almost there. Resilience, empathy, and a good sense of humor will get you through. I promise to do a Why It’s Worth It post.
Physical: Be Their Support System
- Stay active: Keeping up with your own health helps you stay energized and present.
- Be a helper: Hydration, snacks, do the laundry, massages- give or go get them —whatever they need, you’re on it. Don’t wait to be asked; just do. This will help train and discipline you as well for what is to come.
- Endure the “bodily symphony”: Swelling, farting, burping, snoring—it’s all happening, and none of it is glamorous. If the snoring drives you mad, hit the couch for a bit. Survival is key.
Material: Prep for Baby’s Arrival
This is crunch time for getting everything ready:
- Help For New Pains: Snoring help, re up on the skin stretch help! Plus this from earlier post. Those babies are getting big in a small space. Temporary Foot Expanding Comfort

- Hospital bag: Pack it now. Don’t forget your partner’s favorite comfort items.
